Nur ganz kurz:
Ist und Soll Raildruck Vergleichen, am besten Mitloggen bis der Fehler auftritt.
DPF hat mit diesem Fehlercode nichts zu tun.
Bevor mit der unten stehenden Diagnosehilfe begonnen wird, würde ich erstmal die Verkabelung zum Raildrucksensor, Hochdruckpumpe/Saughubsteuerventil prüfen.
Ist diese in Ordnung:

Diagnostic Procedure with Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) [ENGINE (DIAGNOSTICS)(H4DOTC DIESEL)]
DTC P0089 PRESSURE LIMITER VALVE OPENING PROBLEM
1.CHECK EXPERIENCE OF RUNNING OUT OF FUEL.
Check if there was an experience of running out of fuel using “Check List for Interview”.
Has the vehicle experienced running out of fuel? Wurde vom TE nicht erwähnt, dass dieses vorgekommen sein sollte.
2.CHECK DTC.
1) Clear the memory using the Subaru Select Monitor or general scan tool.
NOTE:
For detailed procedures, refer to “Clear Memory Mode”.
2) Perform the “Inspection Mode” to check DTC.
Is the same DTC as current diagnosis output?
Operate the priming pump and then start the engine to bleed the air completely.
Finish the diagnosis.
NOTE:
DTC may be recorded as a result of air entering into fuel pump while running out of fuel.
3.CHECK FOR ANY OTHER DTC ON DISPLAY.
Is any other DTC displayed?
Check the appropriate DTC using the “List of Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)”. Da nur der P0089 aufgetreten ist , fällt das schon mal raus.
4.CHECK FUEL FILTER AND FUEL SUB LEVEL SENSOR FILTER.
Check the fuel filter and fuel sub level sensor filter.
Are the fuel filter and fuel sub level sensor filter normal?
- YES - => >Check of leaks in teh fuel delivery line (High pressure side)
-ä NO - => Replace the fuel filter or fuel sub level sensor filter.
5.CHECK FUEL DELIVERY LINE (HIGH PRESSURE LINE).
Check fuel delivery line (high pressure line) using Subaru Select Monitor.
WARNING:
When checking fuel delivery line during engine operation, be very careful so that one's hair, body and clothes do not touch the rotating part in the engine compartment.
NOTE:
For detailed procedures, refer to “High Pressure Fuel Inspection”.
Are there leaks from the fuel delivery line (high pressure line)?
Replace the faulty fuel delivery line. Kann vernachlässigt werden, da kein Dieselgeruch oder Dieselverlust bemerkbar.
6.CHECK COMMON RAIL PRESSURE.
Read the data of “Target Common Rail Pressure” and “Common rail pressure” using Subaru Select Monitor.
NOTE:
Does “Common rail pressure” change in response to “Target Common Rail Pressure”?
- YES - => Inspect corresponding malfunction using “General Diagnostic Table”. ( Diese ist leider zu umfangreich um sie hier aufzuführen)
- NO - => Inspect using “Diagnostic Procedure without Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)”. (siehe nachfolgend...)

CHECK FUEL PUMP
CAUTION:
After servicing or replacing faulty parts, perform Clear Memory Mode , and Inspection Mode .
1.CHECK DTC.
Read DTC using Subaru Select Monitor or general scan tool.
Is DTC displayed on Subaru Select Monitor or general scan tool?
Check DTC using “List of Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)”.

2.CHECK VEHICLE CONDITION.
Are properly-specified fuel filter, fuel hose, and fuel used?
Change the parts or fuel to properly-specified products. So wie ich das lese, kann von vernünftigem Diesel ausgegangen werden.
3.CHECK FUEL DELIVERY LINE (HIGH PRESSURE LINE).
With the engine off, visually check the fuel delivery line (high pressure line).
Is there any leakage or trace of leakage on the fuel delivery line (high pressure line)?
Replace the faulty fuel delivery line.

4.CHECK ENGINE OIL AMOUNT.
Check the engine oil amount.
Does the engine oil amount increase significantly?
Check the fuel leaks into engine internal.
KAnn man machen , glaube ich aber nicht dran anhand der Symptomatik.
5.CHECK CURRENT DATA.
Read the data of “Common rail pressure” when the engine is off and cold, using the Subaru Select Monitor or a general scan tool.
Is the data of “Common rail pressure” 15,000 kPa (112,528 mmHg, 4,430 inHg) or less?
- YES - => Go to Step 7- CHECK COMMON RAIL PRESSURE. (Cold Engine)
- NO - => Replace the suction control valve
6.CHECK COMMON RAIL PRESSURE SENSOR.
1) Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
2) Connect the CHECK BOARD to the ECM.
3) Turn the ignition switch to ON (engine OFF).
4) Measure the ECM connector terminal voltage using the CHECK BOARD.
Connector & terminal
(B134) No. 46 (+) — (B134) No. 76 (−):
Is the voltage 0.75 — 1.25 V?
- YES - => Repair the poor contact of ECM connector.
- NO - => Replace the common rail assembly.
7.CHECK COMMON RAIL PRESSURE. (Cold Engine)
Read the data of “Common rail pressure” following the common rail pressure inspection procedure when the engine is cold.
Is the data of “Common rail pressure” normal?
- YES - => . Go to Step 8 - Read the data of “Common rail pressure” following the common rail pressure inspection procedure when the engine is warm.
- NO - => Replace the suction control valve. After replacing the part, go to the next step.
8.CHECK COMMON RAIL PRESSURE.(Warm engine)
Read the data of “Common rail pressure” following the common rail pressure inspection procedure when the engine is warm.
Is the data of “Common rail pressure” normal?
- YES - => Has the suction control valve been replaced in step 7?
- YES - => • If P0088, P0089, P1232, P1233, or P1234 was shown : Replace the fuel pump. After replacing the part, check DTC using “List of Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)”.
- NO - => • If the suction control valve has not been replaced in step 7: Replace the suction control valve.
- NO - => If the suction control valve has not been replaced in step 7: Replace the suction control valve.
9.CHECK COMMON RAIL PRESSURE.
Examine the check result in step 8 in detail.
Is the check result significantly below the lower limit of the Target Common Rail Pressure, with a waveform with cyclic down movements?
- YES - => Replace the fuel pump.
- NO - =>
• If the suction control valve has not been replaced in step 7: Replace the suction control valve.
• If the suction control valve has been replaced in step 7: Replace the fuel pump.
10.CHECK DTC.
Read DTC using Subaru Select Monitor or general scan tool.
• General scan tool
For detailed operation procedures, refer to the general scan tool operation manual.
Is DTC displayed on Subaru Select Monitor or general scan tool?
- YES - => • If the suction control valve has not been replaced in step 7: Replace the suction control valve.
- NO - => • If the suction control valve has been replaced in step 7: Repair is complete.
11.CHECK REPLACEMENT HISTORY OF SUCTION CONTROL VALVE.
Has the suction control valve been replaced in step 7?
• If P0628, P0629, or P2635 was shown in step 10: Repair the poor contact of the suction control valve connector or coupling connector.
• If P0088, P0089, P1232, P1233, or P1234 was shown in step 10: Replace the fuel pump. After replacing the part, check DTC using “List of Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)”.
Hinweis:
COMMON RAIL PRESSURE INSPECTION PROCEDURE WHEN ENGINE IS COLD
CAUTION: This inspection must be completed quickly before the engine coolant temperature reaches 60°C (140°F).
Ich denke anhand der Fehlertabelle / Diagnoseschritte seiht man wo die Reise hingeht
Eine gute Subaru Werkstatt würde wohl ebenfalls nach dieser Anleitung vorgehen und NICHT die Diesel-Hochdruckpumpe, sondern erstmal das deutlich günstigere Saughub-Steuerventil erneuern , sofern sie denn Kundenorientiert arbeitet......in den meisten Fällen ist der Fehler dadurch behoben.
BITTE immer bedenken: Ist der Fehler zum Zeitpunkt der Diagnose nicht vorhanden oder tritt während dieser nicht auf / kann nicht nachvollzogen werden, dann kann auch keine vernünftige Diagnose des Fehlers erfolgen!!! Also bitte nicht immer auf der Inkompetenz der Werkstätte rumhauen....und nein ich arbeite in keiner Werkstatt oder irgend einem Autohaus
Zumindest in dem Fall würde ich aber zumindest den Versuch mit der Erneuerung des Saughubsteuerventils preislich in Betracht ziehen.
