Hallo,

vieleicht hilft dir das weiter.
S203 Wheel Search with a bit of history.
As many of you know, STi releases a super car every few years. First it was the Impreza S201 STi Version, a.k.a. the 1999/2000 Subaru Impreza Electra One:

Then there was the Impreza S202 STi Version:

And by the most recent addition to the STi lineup, but by far the absolute sexiest Japanese sportscar to date, the Impreza S203 STi version. This beauty features some goodies we just die for like the Carbon Fiber Recaro seats, the Carbon Fiber front lip spoiler, and the limited edition rear trunk spoiler among many, many others:

But we knew getting 1 of the 555 S203s into this country in one piece was next to impossible, and we were only interested in the S203s "Cindarella" like shoes anyway:

Like the parts made for the S201 and S202, many of the parts made for the S203 are considered "Private" or exclusive, meaning they are made for that vehicle only and are not available for the aftermarket. The BBS wheels on the S203 were designated "Private." So unless we knew someone on the inside, getting these was out of the question (though our contacts are still working hard on finding the backdoor to get us a set). Oh, and if you happened to own an S203, you are entitled to replacements BUT you have to stroll into a Japanese Subaru dealership and show proof of ownership.

Basically, Subaru contracted with BBS for exclusivity with regard to a specific size and fitment for the S203. In this case, we learned that Subaru essentially took the best fitment off the table from the aftermarket community: 18x8.5 with a 53mm offset.

Because we were absolutely infatuated with the look of the BBS wheels, we discovered that the BBS wheels on the S203 were really rebadged BBS RE wheels. However, there were two catches. The size available for the 2004 and 2005 STi was a 18x8. And the offset for the 2005 fitment was +40mm and the offset for the 2004 fitment was +50mm.

I acquired a set of BBS REs for the 2004 STi and, after installing them, we learned that the offset was perfect (no clearance issues). Had we wanted to use the BBS REs for the track, they could have been slightly more aggressive. After reviewing the stock wheel fitment on Ben's 2005 STi, and the BBS RE fitment on my 2004 STi, we realized that the +40mm offset will possibly be the most aggressive fitment one would want from a wheel. We still have not received them but we suspect they will be flush with the fender. If we add some negative camber in both the front and rear it should be perfect (at the most we expect to have to roll the front fenders).

You can see the pics of the BBS REs on my car in my signature or here:

As soon as Ben's wheels arrive, we will have them up for you to see. Here is some additional information and a recap of the above information in one tidy place:

S203
BBS RE
18x8.5 +53 offset

BBS RE fitments:
2004 STi: 18x8 +50 offset
2005 STi: 18x8 +40 offset

S202 (STi did the same thing with Volk Racing when it released the S203)
Volks Racing CE28N (Gunmetal)
17x7.5 +53 offset

I dont have the numbers yet for the 2004 & 2005 STi, but unless you buy it from STi you cannot get that color and fitment for your 2004 STi. If I recall correctly, its 17x8 or 17x8.5. Volks offers a lot more variety and colors in the CE28N type of wheel. The amount of CE28 spin offs is mind boggling.

More to come....
