Kit for Impreza 22B in metal.

Hello


I'm sorry, my knowledge of German is weak so I'll write in English.
I hope you do not mind.

I live in Croatia and I work in the classic car restoration and race preparation shop.
My main job is fabrication metal auto body parts and welding.


I recently made a set of rear quarter panels for the Subaru Impreza 22B.
If you are interested I will show you the entire process of making metal parts.

Das koennte doch glatt die Antwort auf manche Gebete sein. Wie ich das so gelesen habe, haetten ja schon gerne einige ein 22B-Bodykit, wollen aber kein GFK-Geraffel am Autowagen haben.

First I made a fiberglass mold on the original Impreza 22B to take all the necessary dimensions and shape.








After careful measurement and checking shapes I cut out the metal and
marked all the necessary information for shaping and forming parts.










After many hours of hammering and wheeling on the english wheel and
frequently checking the shapes on the mold and templates most of the
main parts is shaped.





I still need to make the lower part of the quarter panel and the rear of the sill.

All parts are shaped, trimmed and ready for welding.

This welding process has to be very slow and meticulous to prevent deformation.

After welding and sanding the weld is almost invisible from the outside.
















The lower part of the quarter panel and the sill is shaped and welded.

Most of the parts is made​​.
Now I need to put together the front and rear half of the quarter panel and make the last weld.

After five weeks of hard work, the panels are finished.

Quarter panels and front fenders can also be made ​​in aluminium.
