My transmission has broken 2 times

Hello all of you!

you see, I have a Impreza MY00 and i have boosted it to 274 whp and 401 of torque (without nos), and it is too much for this tranny :) First time I have broken 1 and 2nd gear, now - the second time - I have the same problem... I'll would be very thankful if you could suggest me what to install as a aftermarket, and not so exspensively :) Or, is it posible that any other tranny could fit to my engine? Becouse in UK is a lot STi's from year 95+ that are selling their trannys. Do you know maybe, wich of them do fit?

Hi,

Try to mail Richard. He installed a complete STi Ver.8 transmission into his MY00 wagon and seems to be very happy with it. I've heard that the STi Ver.3 gearboxes aren't that good. STi Ver.4 and onwards should be much better. The Ver.8 gearbox is of course the strongest and most reliable one of the STi series, but for sure also the most expensive one...
